Lympne
Castle is enchanting - the historic architecture weaves its magic and you
can believe that you are part of a fairy tale.
You approach the castle via the huge stone North Gate and alight in the courtyard
within the main castle. The wedding party passes through into the West Drawing
Room, which, with its oak panelling and open fire, is the perfect setting for
the solemnity of the wedding service.
Guests can enjoy a celebratory drink and the magnificent view from the terrace
before dining in splendour in the medieval Great Hall.
Place of Interest
For those visitors to the castle who wish to explore the surrounding area there is much to see and do. Port Lympne Animal Park is adjacent to the castle. Nearby Hythe offers the Royal Military Canal, The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, pleasant shops and restaurants and a shingle beach.
Those seeking a sandy beach may visit the famous sands and ride the donkeys at Dymchurch or follow the coast through Sandgate to Folkestone. Here you can enjoy the beach, harbour and fun fair, stroll along the cliff top promenade or visit the adventure playground on what locals refer to as ‘The Riviera’.
Dover, with its famous white cliffs
and castle is a little further along the coast. Travel inland from
Lympne Castle and visit the beautiful cathedral at Canterbury
or Howletts Zoo Park. These are some of the attractions of the Garden Coast
but there are many places for visitors to discover regardless of their
age or interest - or the British weather!
